The Story of Tomorrowland Belgium 2024: LIFE
Tomorrowland, an annual electronic dance music (EDM) festival, is celebrated for its legendary energy and mythical stage designs.
In 2024, Tomorrowland Belgium’s theme, “LIFE,” marked the festival’s 20th anniversary, creating an enchanting atmosphere for festival goers.
Featuring an impressive lineup of over 800 artists across 16 stages, the six-day event included performances by Armin van Buuren, Amelie Lens, Amber Broos, Bonobo, and more, captivating fans from around the world.
To commemorate this milestone, the Tomorrowland Atelier crafted an immersive world inspired by lush nature and the legendary “Mother Tree.” Through in-house design, the team created a breathtaking stage at De Schorre that brought this vision to life.
Challenges in Visual Setup
Creating LED display solutions for a large-scale event like Tomorrowland comes with unique challenges, demanding precise planning and execution:
1. Complex Stage Designs: Tomorrowland’s unconventional and intricate stage setups often include challenging shapes and layouts, making seamless LED integration essential.
2. High Visual Standards: With high expectations for captivating visuals, the displays had to deliver vibrant colors, sharp images, and dynamic scenes to enhance performances and engage festival goers.
3. Installation Logistics: The main stage for “LIFE” stood 36 meters tall and 160 meters wide, featuring 1,600 square meters of video panels composed of 3,136 individual tiles. Installing and coordinating the various teams—rigging, electrical, and technical support—was a massive undertaking.
