INFiLED Helped Emaar Build a Digital Network for the Dubai Mall

DOOH MVmk2 Series Indoor Outdoor

Overview

In July 2026, together with our long-term partner Blue Rhine Industries, INFiLED supported the UAE’s prestigious real estate company Emaar to build a scalable digital advertising network across around 50 different locations within the Dubai Mall, one of the world’s most recognizable shopping and entertainment spaces. The network was engineered using INFiLED’s MVmk2 Series LED panels, each screen customized to suit all the different site locations and light conditions.

The new LED network gives Emaar and its advertising partners a visually stunning array of canvases for new commercial opportunities and, using the cost-effective and reliable MVmk2 Series, carefully minimized both initial capital expenditure, as well as keeping long-term operating expenditure sustainable

About Emaar

Emaar is one of the UAE’s best-known companies and has built up a range of property-related businesses covering real estate development, retail, hospitality and entertainment, ever since it was founded, way back in 1997.Emaar is the master developer behind the iconic Burj Khalifa, and it has master-planned what seems to be most of Dubai’s most recognizable (and desirable!) destinations, such as Downtown Dubai, the Dubai Marina, the Dubai Hills Estate and Dubai Creek Harbour

The Challenge: There’s Nothing Conventional About This.

Creating an integrated LED digital advertising network across the entire Dubai Mall presented very different challenges from a conventional LED installation. The network would be covering around 50 locations spread through a vast and architecturally different environment, and no two locations were the same. This meant designing a network of screens, each with its own requirements.

The network had to contend with variations in:

  • Lighting conditions:Outdoor displays and those close to skylights and glass façades had much higher levels of natural light to play with than those deeper within the mall. Other areas were lit purely with artificial light
  • Viewing distances: Some screens would be positioned high up or far from the shoppers, others were meant for close-ups, and would need careful consideration of screen dimensions and angles.
  • Mounting infrastructure: The screens would have to be able to adapt to the variety of support types, access constraints and surrounding finishes of the different areas of the Mall.

At the same time, each screen in the network had to reliably deliver an exceptional visual experience for the visitors, with the right contrast, color reproduction and brightness for its location. Emaar was also interested in what value its initial investment would create over the lifetime of the display network, so it was important for the display network to be scalable and adaptable for future needs, as well as cost-effective to run in the long term

The Solution: The MVmk2 Series: Classy & Cost-Effective

We worked closely with the Emaar team to help them assess the project requirements. The project needed detailed engineering studies, customized structural solutions, and careful planning to decide which screens were most suitable, and to adapt them to the different site conditions.

The in-depth engineering study considered the:

  • Installation height and available space
  • Screen dimensions and orientation
  • Viewing distance and angles
  • Pedestrian and customer flow
  • Ambient lighting and natural sunlight
  • Integration with existing architecture
  • Structural requirements and available support
  • Accessibility for future maintenance

Ultimately, the LED network of almost 50 screens was engineered using custom-built panels from INFiLED’s MVmk2 Series, which INFiLED had designed specifically for high-impact and challenging environments, as well as maximum brightness and minimum operational costs. The MVmk2 panels satisfied the spec through:

  • High-quality imagery without unnecessary cost: The 3.9 mm pixel pitch gave the right balance of image detail and viewing distance, which enabled them to show detailed content without being over-spec.
  • Clear content in challenging light: Up to 4,500 nits of brightness ensured the LED screen content stayed visible and prominent in bright areas throughout the day.
  • Smooth, dynamic content: The 3,840 Hz refresh rate made sure that imagery production stayed fluid and seamless.
  • Consistent colour and strong visual impact: The MVmk2 screens’ high contrast and excellent colour uniformity ensured vibrant, consistent imagery across the LED surfaces
  • Flexible installation: The MVmk2 is built from lightweight but robust aluminum, so cabinets could be adapted securely to the different structural conditions across the Mall’s different types of locations.
  • Maximum uptime and minimal SLA downtime: Built for large DOOH networks that can’t afford lengthy downtime, the MVmk2 has an industry-leading 10-second module swap time, as well as both front and rear maintenance access. This minimizes disruption for Mall visitors and keeps advertisers’ messages in front of them for longer.
  • Protected against weather and dust: IP65 protection kept the worst of the weather, moisture and dust from the outdoor parts of the network.
  • Energy efficient: The MVmk2 Series is designed for continuous 24/7operation without being power hungry. The INFiLED engineers had put a lot of work into reducing the overall thermal load, by reducing the thermal mass of the panels through a change to a conventional panel structure.

The Result: DOOH Built for Long-Term Value

The new LED network has significantly expanded Emaar’s digital advertising capacity, with a digital network of almost 50 LED screens across one of Dubai’s most demanding and high-profile retail environments. More than simply adding new screens, the network is a long-term investment that gives Emaar a scalable digital media platform to help it showcase new commercial opportunities for itself and for its partners, while providing the flexibility and operational efficiency needed to support the network-and Emaar’s ambitions-well into the future.
