2NEI are the OG K-pop girl group, debuting way back in 2009, collecting a whole ton of “firsts” and breaking the stereotypes of K-pop along the way.
After a six-year hiatus and a surprise reunion on the mainstage at Coachella 2022, their long-awaited Welcome Back Tour is set to commemorate the group’s 15th anniversary, and features twenty-seven high-impact shows across Asia.
We were delighted to work with event production maestros DC Zon Entertainment, one of our long-standing partners, with a stellar reputation in the live event industry.
We worked closely to deliver a set of six stunning outdoor LED displays for 2NEI’s sell-out concert on Feb 1 2025 at Kuala Lumpur’s National Hockey Stadium.
The Vision: sound meets spectacle
This was the tour that blackjacks – 2NE1’s fandom – had been waiting for. Expectations were higher than sky-high. To match the group’s legendary status, DC Zon Entertainment was entrusted with designing a visual experience that would be as iconic as 2NE1 itself.
In addition, the group members had been intensely involved in every creative aspect of the concert – stage design, setlist, choreography, and costuming. We couldn’t let them down.
No pressure, then.
The Challenge: bringing the show to every seat
Creating an emotionally-laden, captivating visual experience between artist and each and every audience member had two big challenges:
The size of the stadium
With a capacity of 16,000, the National Hockey Stadium has often been the venue for large-scale events but the group, the organizers, the teams of INFiLED and DC Zon Entertainment were committed to ensuring that every fan could fully experience an immersive performance, regardless of their distance or viewing angle from the stage.
The nature of the performance
Heavy visuals – not just of the group itself, but meaningful design elements relating to the theme of the tour – were a significant factor in 2NE1’s show. Exceptional color vibrancy and clarity of the stadium LED screens were essential.
