Overview
In September, INFiLED’s high-performance screens were installed at the new facility of TEN DOTS, an innovative Virtual Production Studio based in Bulgaria.
This studio integrated its existing INFiLED DB2.6 and AR5.9 screens, which were customized to meet the specific technical requirements for virtual production.
The installation was executed with meticulous precision, creating a semi-enclosed LED Volume complemented by upgraded servers and a sophisticated screen control system.
The result is a state-of-the-art facility capable of meeting the demands of high-level Virtual Production.
About TEN DOTS
Founded in 2020, TEN DOTS Virtual Production Studio is at the forefront of Europe’s virtual production revolution, providing filmmakers with an innovative platform to bring their creative visions to life.
The studio employs cutting-edge technology to project pre-designed 3D virtual environments rendered in real time. These dynamic environments are displayed on LED screens that seamlessly blend real and virtual elements, creating immersive filming experiences.
The LED screens’ content is synchronized with the camera through a sophisticated Camera Tracking System, ensuring precise alignment with the camera’s movements. This integration allows for the accurate capture of perspectives, regardless of the camera’s position during the shoot.
Meeting the Challenges of Virtual Production
TEN DOTS outlined specific and detailed requirements for its LED screens and screen control system to guarantee optimal performance and visual quality during production.
LED Ceiling Requirements
The ceiling’s primary role is to provide reflections and overall lighting for physical set builds within the LED Volume. The studio prioritized key parameters like refresh rate, frame rate, scan rate, and color representation. These capabilities ensure that the screen delivers rapid, intricate imagery changes vital for creating realistic and immersive environments.
The LED ceiling must excel in playback smoothness across various frame rates and provide accurate color representation to ensure seamless integration between the virtual and physical sets.
Background Screen Requirements
The background screen is a critical component of the Studio LED Volume. It must:
- Display high-resolution content without lag or distortion for smooth playback across frame rates.
- Deliver consistent colors and brightness from various viewing angles, ensuring accurate and seamless integration with physical sets.
